Shinrin-Yoku \u2013 Forest Bathing Walk<\/b><\/p>\n

We are thrilled to be able to stage another iteration of our popular Shinrin-Yoku \u2013 Forest Bathing walk.<\/a> <\/i>Tree worship is universal, as is our symbiotic relationship to trees.\u00a0Come and explore Canberra\u2019s heritage listed, 100-year-old Cork Forest.
\nJoin a cohort of Localjinni\u2019s as we throw light on this enchanted wood, make walking drawings, and meditate on the nature of trees.<\/p>\n

Participating artists – Dr Sally Clarke, Dr Tracey Benson, Jane Duong, Nicole Voevodin-Cash, Caroline Huff, Dr Ursula Frederick and Fiona Hooton. Supported by the National Arboretum <\/b>(See showreel)<\/a><\/p>\n

Artist in Residence Localjinni & Canberra Art Biennial<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"\"<\/a>We are delighted to welcome Nicole Voevodin-Cash<\/a> as Artist in Residence from 2-16 November 2023. Nicole is a Queensland based artist\u00a0whose thesis is \u201cinteraction\u201d as a sculptural strategy and looking into ‘Educating Attention’ developing \u201cwalking as ART: ART as walking\u2019. The residency is a new collaboration between Localjinni & <\/span>CAB<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Year to Date<\/strong><\/h5>\n

ProtoX Arts Digital\u00a0Accelerator\u00a0Program <\/strong>(Feb<\/strong>\u2013 May)
\n<\/strong>Fiona (Founder Localjinni) was accepted into Creative Australia\u2019s first cohort of the ProtoX Arts Digital Accelerator Program. A 12-week mentoring program for artists, groups, and organisations to develop new digital business ideas. Fiona successfully completed the program and has received a small grant for marketing support. This grant will be used to pay for an assistant to help us with marketing and promotion.<\/p>\n

Lesbian Led – Pride Walk<\/strong> (March)
\n<\/strong>Localjinni ran a Pride Walk around the Lake in association with the Enlighten Festival and World Pride celebrations. It was fascinating to explore some of the city\u2019s queer stories, and to screen works by our many LGBTIQ+ contributing artists.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Photographer Jane Duong<\/p>\n

Guerrilla Projection Night<\/strong> (July)
\n<\/strong>On a still winter\u2019s night, we gathered around some of the capital\u2019s, grandest edifices to see images by participants in the\u00a0Brutalist by\u00a0bike\u00a0workshop<\/i>. A PhotoAccess program, the workshop was led by photographer Jordan Stokes. Stay tuned for more Guerrilla Projections staged in partnership with PhotoAccess in 2024. A great way to see your work on a monumental scale and to get a great image for your next grant or exhibition application.<\/p>\n
