Heritage Festival 2019

SPLACE walk
Friday, Saturday and Sunday 26, 27, 28 April

Join Localjinni on a mission to track the complex orbits of space and place.
SPACE – has dominated our thinking through its association with science and the age of Enlightenment.
PLACE – however, will no longer be disregarded and is making its play.
Take a deep dive into Lake Burley Griffin’s story of place.

Fujiko Nakaya Artist Talk

Saturday 9 March

Join artist Fujiko Nakaya for an illustrated presentation of her work and to celebrate the Gallery’s much-loved ‘fog sculpture.’ Nakaya will discuss Foggy wake in a desert: An ecosphere in the context of her broader practice, as the first example of her work in a permanent collection anywhere in the world.

Benjamin Skepper

Internationally acclaimed Australian-Japanese new media artist and musician, Benjamin Skepper, will present a new compositional work for electric cello, electronics and video. His electro-acoustic live performance will build upon ideas developed for “Pumping Blood”.
